2018 FIFA World Cup

Overview

The 2018 FIFA World Cup was the 21st FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial international football championship for men's senior national teams. It was held in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018. It was the first World Cup to be held in Eastern Europe, and the 11th time that it had been held in Europe. The tournament was won by France, who defeated Croatia 4–2 in the final.

Knockout Stage

The knockout stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup was the second and final stage of the competition following the group stage. It began on 30 June with the Round of 16 and concluded on 15 July with the final. The knockout stage was a single-elimination tournament, with the winner of each match advancing to the next round and the loser being eliminated from the competition.
